Intense pulse light (IPL) uses light to diminish the appearance of broken blood vessels, age spots, redness caused by rosacea, spider veins, and pigmentation caused by sun damage. It can also be used to diminish the appearance of other features such as unwanted freckles, birthmarks, and hair.

The IPL treatment specifically targets problem areas while leaving healthy skin alone. This treatment can be done on any part of the body, it is most effective on smooth surfaces rather than uneven areas.

Following treatment you will want to avoid direct sunlight, tanning beds, chemical peels, waxing, collagen injections, products that contain vitamin A, and drugs that increase your risk for bleeding such as ibuprofen or aspirin.
